Writing is more important than 'leaving' rather than 'discarding'.

The paper that left the wrong sentence will be thrown away in the trash bin,

and the paper that left the wrong sentence will remain in the bookcase.

If you leave it, it will be abandoned, and if you abandon it will remain.
