Feel like a little fish in a big pond?

Welcome to the weekly meetup just for you.

The purpose of this contest is to meet new people, have exposure for something you created this week, and a chance to win SBD.

Sometimes really cool posts get lost in the flood of posts especially for those of us that are new, don’t have a large following or cannot afford advertising. I would like to give new users a chance to have some of their work viewed by a larger part of the steemit community and also a chance at some SBD both for entering and also commenting. Everyone says comment, comment, comment…

Payouts:

Best post with either a #newbieresteemday tag or #newbiegames 40% of SBD from this post
Best post by a redfish = 40% of SBD payout from this post
Best comment = 10% of SBD payout from this post ANYONE IS eligible for this award
Redfish interact prize = 10% of SBD payout split up between all redfish that link and comment but don’t win.

To enter the contest:

Post a link to 1 thing you created this week and a quick description about content… the description is not necessary but helps draw people in.
Read a post by at least 2 other contestants and comment on at least one that you really liked or felt motivated to respond to.
To be eligible to win best post you must be a redfish (less than 1000SP)

To win the contest:

To get the participation prize you must comment or upvote someone else!
The best comment will be decided by myself.
The best post will be awarded based on the number of votes a post receives.
Each comment is worth 1 vote for the post.
Each upvote is worth ½ a vote for a post.

Here is an example:

example 3-14.png

If we use this example: @tifaong would get 3 votes.
There are 4 upvotes = 2 votes
1 from @lil-mich for the comment = 1 vote

The fine print...

Contest closes a week from today, the sooner you post the more likely you are to get more votes.
An upvote is not required to join this contest but, as the prize is a % of the SBD payout it is encouraged that you upvote and resteem to increase the prize payout.
Payout will be within 24 hours of this posts expiration and will be announced in a winners post.
I reserve the right to refuse payment and award prize to someone else if you are caught buying votes.
You will get 2 upvotes just for entering, some weeks they aren't worth much and some weeks they are worth 0.01 each.
Here is a link to last weeks if you need an idea of how we play.

Please do not add bots that COMMENT to this post as it distracts from what we are doing.

I will add 2 quiet bots throughout the week to up the payout by 0.6-0.8 SBD

This is a post for my wonderful hubbys birthday and a little background on him and our love! Thanks for reading! :D
https://steemit.com/newbieresteemday/@smylie2005/march-13-1973-if-only-she-had-known-what-she-created-that-day

Hey @smylie2005, I kinda get you, you know. When you wanted to thank the parent of the incredible man of your life, I had the same thought too. I think we get curious of how they are brought up, what kind of environment they were in, and how those shaped in the incredible man Danny has become.

I wish you and Danny will be much happier than ever and have a wonderful life with Danny, your baby daughter and your family.

Happy Birthday Danny!! Take care of @smylie2005 and treat her better than ever XD

Thank you very much! You know, he had a pretty shitty childhood. As much as his mothre loved him, she had many demons and she more often than not let those demons win. She was a single mother, his dad was rarely in the picture and when he was it wasnt good. He couldve easily followed down the same road as her, or him for that matter. But he rose up against all odds. He saw what it did to his mother and many other people around that neighborhood and decided at a young age, he was going to be different. She had a huge part in pushing him to be better than the normal, whether she knew it or not. Luckily he had a man like my grandfather to teach him to be a man, how to be a father and how to treat a woman.

Thank you for your comment and for reading! <3

Oh wow!! What a childhood! I'm glad that he turns out the best man that you've visualized :) Kudos to his grandfather! hahahaha

You're welcome :D

That is such a lovely post @smylie2005. I can tell from your post that you are so proud of him and that he makes you happy. he sounds like an amazing husband! 😄

Thank you! Hes the bees knees! <3

I love stories of love. Give him a high five from me.

Will do! Thanks for reading! :)

What a lovely couple :)

Thank you! :)

You guys are so sweet! Happy birthday to your hubby too. :)

Thank you! It was a good day filled with steaks and chocolate cake! :D

I guess I've been under a rock. Also, I don't think we should weep for spies. They know what they are getting into, just like mobsters.

I just hope it doesn't start a war.

haha the world is going to shits, i left u a comment section of your post too, but I honestly think someone is trying to frame the russians, but just doing a really bad job at it! But time will tell!

I am surprised that they even admitted the dead person was a spy. Not a very well kept secret that he was a spy then if the news media knew he was one, then everyone in the world knew he was one, because the new media doesn't lie right. Other a slightly famous U2 pilot I don't think the American government has ever admitted someone being a spy, and they did not even say Powers was a spy, he was just the pilot of a spy plane, so not a spy. So I don't think America has any spies? But now we know for a fact that Britain has spies, they just admitted that much. bad Bad country britain using spies to spy on their peace loving neighbors.

edit: sorry in case any one thought I was serious. I was not.

Is this still going on?

Yep, still no proof, still a clamoring for war.

If its just a spy then why does it matter anyway?

I tried to upvote. But it didn't work. @profanereviews is right spies know the risks.

Thank you @royaleagle for using me in your example of how things are done, I feel greatly honored :)

My entry to your contest today is about how growing your own produce with the help of kids might not turn out exactly how you'd planned, but rewarding you with a good laugh instead:
When growing your own produce...

LOL!! Yes, yes I know that feeling! We have these grand plans of together time, they rarely work out as planned but as long as theres smiles to be shared its all good, even if they are just next door with the other kiddos!

isn't it funny how usually the best times come just totally unplanned? :)

That's a fancy looking carrot.

yes, we had a right good laugh at it :)

LOL The Carrot!! Must be when they simply plant the seeds and the carrots grew too close to each other right? (If I've not mistakenly read your post). That's really cute of them!

Gardening is really beneficial for kids so that they understand the meaning of life and the hardships of having vegetables delivered to their plates. Good going @lil-mich!! Can't wait to see what else you'll be planting XD

Haha thank you @tifaong 😊 they were indeed growing too close. I tried thinning them out and spreading them as they grew, but there were too many of them. We had loads of funny-looking ones, but this was the best. 😄

Hahahaha, parents gotta clean up the mess the child made. Next time ask your kids to help you thin and spread them ;)

My girlfriend and I have decided to have our monthly meal date and it is kind like mini celebration for us after working hard for the month :)

I don't like a lot of seafood, but that looks really good.

Thank you @profanereviews

Cool concept man!
I have a very greasy but amazingly delicious breakfast burger recipe with pictures at:
https://steemit.com/foodphotography/@brakan/the-heartattack-breakfast-burger-w-recipe-653d5142eff43, sometimes i do food photography, And some art. But Also cigar reviews! :)

I tried to upvote too. I was into it until you put jam on it.

Its delicious! You must try! :) it brings it all togheter In a Nice way!

Oh my god, @brakan, I'm working here and looking at your burger.... I'm mouth-watering already. That's a really really dangerous comfort food!

This looks like a huge delicious mess! What is cowberry jam?

Cowberry is a small red berry that’s quite sour, it’s also sometimes called lingonberry. But cranberry gel will easily do the trick!

That looks good enough to eat!

Hey @royaleagle, I'm honored that you've chosen my comment twice in a row, thank you!! hehehe

I've recently written a heart-felt post that has been pressuring me and at the same time, I have learn a very valuable lesson that I wanted to share with all Steemians. Do you feel scared to agree that you will do it and you don't even know how to hell to do it? It's actually a good thing, and you'll know why when you read my story.

https://steemit.com/music/@seenitallfilms/calling-all-steem-musicians-how-to-get-your-work-noticed-on-a-budget
Hey what a good idea.
Here is my post. It's informing upcoming musicians to create their own music videos! I'm trying to inspire creative people here on Steem. Thank you, hope you like it!

This is my first post on STEEMIT. An entry for the open mic contest. It is my version of "imagine" by John Lennon. https://mspsteem.com/openmic/@shookriya/steemit-open-mic-week-76-imagine

Great song.

I love that song, one of my favorites! And you did it justice. I like the quietness of your voice. You can tell it has meaning to you and it conveys through your voice. You got some balls, I know I wouldnt be able to get on camera and sing like that, much less that song! Great job! :)

Woo hoo! Thanks for the dough, @royaleagle. This week I'll throw in this weird tale. https://steemit.com/blog/@profanereviews/is-my-brain-showing-part-1 I'll wait until next week to throw part two into the ring.

As usual with my posts, there is adult language and themes.

Good luck everyone!

Oh gracious now I absolutely have to read pt. 2. (leave em hangin') 😁
I get this cartoon vision of you rolling down the road head skin flapping in the wind. Maybe trying to hold on some raggedy gause with that battered up hat.
Good lord the way you write you could turn that whole trip into an adventure. I am pretty sure there were plenty of mishaps along the way to add to the humor. I need a good laugh.
I will be following along in case you say something funny

Well thanks a bunch. You're right about the mishaps. I'm in bed with the flu, but I will be starting on part two as soon as I can. I hope I don't disappoint you so early in the relationship. I feel like a good stalker deserves to have their hard work rewarded.

This was hilarious! From the writing to the pictures, greatness! Followed and resteemed to share the laughter!

Thank you for the laugh. I read this 5 minutes ago and am still laughing. I have done similar things while working on the tractors around the farm.

Oh thank you, and you're welcome. Tractor stories are great, because there are so many dangerous directions they can take. Hahahaha, like letting a six year old pull the hay wagon, because it's only in first gear and he can't wreck anything.

Part two is out now if you are interested.

Funny as per usual. More of a slapstick approach this time though. lol

Thanks, dude. Sometimes I slap sticks.

Wow! Did this really happen?

Sure did. Part 2 shows the factory it happened at, at the end of the post.
