Hi everyone,

Today is the day for my Newbie Resteem Initiatiave!!

If you aren't familiar with it, here is the original post explaining it:
https://steemit.com/newbieresteemday/@davemccoy/its-here-its-launched-come-join-us-newbie-resteem-initiative

The premise is built on the idea that if we mentor new folks here, it will add to the overall quality of present and future posts on steemit.

Thanks to @davemccoy and @mudcat36 for starting this; I have to say it is really taking off!

I've only been on steemit since December, so I am hardly an expert, but I certainly remember the feeling of being completely lost! If it wasn't for the help of so so many kind people here, I wouldn't be where I am now.

So I'm paying it forward!

TO DO:

If you have a 40 or less reputation score and have a great post that you want to share, just copy your post(link) in the comment section that you would like resteemed and I will either resteem it or I will comment on it and give you suggestions if you would like to make it better.

If you have a 40 or more reputation score and think this is a cool idea, please consider resteeming any of the links on my page, comment on them, or spread the word by resteeming this post. I know so many of you were and are mentors to me, and it is exactly that kind of help that makes this platform awesome!

Newbie Resteem also has its' own group on discord now; the invite link is https://discord.gg/FTXZ4cd. It's a great place to meet other new people and also chat with all of the great people involved with this initiative.

People helping people....just another awesome addition to steemit!! :)

Cheers!!

Thank you so very much!!

Oh I missed this one yesterday but better late than never. Just want to show my support here. Thank you for your resteemday @lynncoyle1 :)

Thank you so much...it really is a nice idea:) You are totally welcome!! And thanks to you as well, I see you've done two! I actually carried mine through two days because my bandwidth was so low yesterday I couldn't do anything. It's below 50% again now so I hope to get thru the people who've already left links for me:)

Anyway, thank you for stopping by; your support is always appreciated! Cheers!

You're welcome. I heard a lot of people got affected by the bandwidth problem. It's also dependent on your SP so power up when you get the chance.

Thank you; I do that every time! :) I think it was an issue that day, but it's all good now. I just wrote a blog on the results of my day, but I think I will host a resteem day weekly now:)

Why is it when I click on your link it goes to @nxah 's page???

Now I understand why you wanted me to resteem this at that moment... So sorry it took me so long to get to it... I will do it now for you!!! :)

and ps with the bandwidth issues in the morning, you didn't miss anything because most could post to it anyways and you also couldn't resteem it.. so it worked out!!!

GOOD JOB!!! I'm proud of you for doing this... And thank you very much!

Thanks Dave! Yep, it was kind of lagging to say the least:) I've extended this into tomorrow too fyi:)

I'm more proud of you buddy!!

I think its awesome, we have a good group of "peeps" as you say! And I think we have 3 contests to play, so if you want to go meet people and have some fun you can play too!!! (if the bandwidth issue cooperaties)

Yes, we do have a good group of "peeps" haha

I would love to play, but I'm already below 50% and have another resteem/comment to go, plus keep up with my other regular "peeps"!!

Thanks for checking in; You are awesome...just in case no one's told you that today:)

Wow! You are doing great for starting in December! That’s encouraging in itself. I am definitely in the “feeling lost” stage, but I am still excited about growing on this platform. I just started posting in January and I think I only have 4-5 posts. Here is my most recent one that I would love you to see. I’ll also go binge read some of your other posts ♥️ https://steemit.com/dtube/@cluelessmamad/nevlq8n3

Thanks for the compliment; I really appreciate it!

When I started out, I had very few comments and upvotes on my own blog. I would spend hours creating a post only to have it sit there unnoticed. It was disheartening for sure, but then I figured out that the only way to become a valued member of this community was to genuinely comment on other people's posts. I decided to spend a lot of time reading and commenting (and upvoting when I had the power:) on other's blogs; and I was surprised at the money I made doing that, because let's face it, that's a part of this too. But more importantly, I started to establish real relationships. It was only when I started to establish those relationships that way, did those people start to make their way to my page. The key is 'genuine' comments, not just 'wow, good job' kind of stuff. I also joined several Discord channels and made a point of 'meeting' one new person a day. That helped a lot too. I'm fortunate not to have a job so I could spend a lot of time on here, which I did!

I really like your post a lot; having the video there is great for the 'visual readers' too. My only recommendation is at the end to not ask others to upvote if they liked it. Truthfully, that is a big turn-off for a lot of people here. I've found that if someone likes your post, they'll upvote it without you having to ask. Otherwise I'd say you did an awesome job!

I hope this was helpful, and I am more than happy to resteem it for you. Right now it is almost midnight here in Mexico, so I'm continuing this initiative tomorrow and will resteem it then when there are more viewers around :)

Cheers!

Way to go @lynncoyle1! The community is truly the framework of this platform. And members like you are the frames that are taking the steps to support the new frames on the next floor. Thank you for giving back! Much Peace and love! Here is a blog I just posted. Enjoy

Hi there! Thank you for the compliment; hopefully one day you will be in the same position to give back and continue to pay it forward to other new people, because you are right, "the community is truly the framework for this platform"!

I really liked your blog, but might I suggest a bit more explanation for some things that may seem very clear to you (you obviously have a lot of knowledge about crystals etc), but people with no clear background knowledge might like a bit more info. Like me for example:) After reading, I was curious about the negative energy you were trying to erase....what was it? how was it affecting your life? I think people really like the "human" side of your type of blog. Also, at the end when you mentioned "cleaning"...I would have love that explained more. Lastly, I've read before that a good blog doesn't just end abruptly. Try to bring your reader back into it, perhaps asking them a personal question to encourage comments back to you. Otherwise, I quite enjoyed it and am happy to resteem it for you:)

If you get a moment, please read the other comments I left people here; you may find them helpful also.
Cheers!

Thank you so much. I love the feedback, it really helps understand not only blogging, but engaging with the community. Thanks again!

I've been on steemit for less than 2 weeks and the more I learn about this community, the more I love it. So when I found this newbie initiative I had to take advantage. Thank you for being a great part of the community Lynn. My link below is from a post that I made yesterday. Thank you!!

https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@cool-mike/my-analysis-could-reddcoin-reach-usd1-per-coin-in-2018

Thank you so much; I'm still in awe of this whole thing!! I read your post and really like it. It's interesting, succinct/ to the point and clearly written. Have a look at the comment I left @cluelessmamad above..it saves me from retyping all of that haha

The key is developing relationships with others and then, and only then, will those 'others' come looking for you:) If you haven't already, join the Discord channel too. It's an awesome way to develop relationships and community.

It is past midnight here in Mexico, so I'm happy to resteem this tomorrow during daytime hours; I think it will be more beneficial for you. Cheers!

Thank you Lynn!! I'm definitely going to start putting your advice into action. Have a good night!!

you're making steemit a great community with your content lynncoyle1! keep it up!

Thank you so much!!

Nice initiative! I will be a month old on steemit in few hours, I came across you just last night and have been impressed with what have seen so far although I don't really understand what it all about but am going to drop the post, it's just 23 hours old thanks.

Happy one-month-versary :)

In a nutshell, the initiative is to help new people find their footing, give advice etc, and then hopefully when you rise up the ranks, you can do the same for others. It also helps keep the entire platform successful I think, because people improve with mentorship as well as establishing themselves as part of the community!

I had a look at your post and like it! Here's my two notes for you though: First, I would leave out the part where you suggest people upvote you. Truthfully, that is a big turn-off for a lot of people here. I've found that if someone likes your post, they'll upvote it without you having to ask. And second, next time you do a post with all the photos(which is awesome for those visual people out there:), I would recommend some short sentences after the pics explaining a bit. I know it seems obvious from the photos to you, but think of someone who has never drawn before; a little explanation would be helpful. Otherwise I think it's a good one...keep it up:) Cheers!
ps/ if you get a second, read the comment I left with @cluelessmamad above (it saves me from re-typing lol)

Thanks for the correction

Hey my pleasure! That's a great post actually; well written, nice mix of pictures and writing, and enough information to entice someone to try and find that comic! Nice job, I'm happy to resteem it. Feel free to read the comments I left others here for more advice etc, especially the one to @cluelessmamad. :) Cheers!

Thank you for the feedback! I've been trying to be a bit more active in commenting, and actually providing insight on the post, and your advice just proved I'm working in the right direction! Thanks again!

You're welcome! I know it's always nice to have someone else validate our thoughts:)
I'd say that you are well on your way...you could have your own #newbieresteemday soon!

https://steemit.com/art/@luanne/freeform-wire-wrapped-pendant
Please let me know if I'm newbie resteem able. Ty!

Hey there! I'm happy to say it is definitely resteemable:) You did a good job on the post overall; nice mix of pics with writing, and your instructions were very clear for someone like me who's never done anything like that! I could now though:) Be sure and read the other comments I left people here, but I'd say you are on your way and soon could do your own #newbieresteemday !! Cheers:)

Cool!! I'm just waiting to get over that 40 mark. So close! And I definitely will read others comments. Thank you!

Thanks for your communitywork!

Thank you so much; I appreciate your kind words:)

Good luck in this initiative!
@davemccoy and @mudcat36 are doing a great thing for new steemians!

Thanks @goldendawne! They are, aren't they??

And thank you for the 'voter appreciation' over at steemit bloggers..I really really appreciate that!

Thanks for helping us minnows out! Hope I am able to be resteemed.

https://steemit.com/myartoftheweek/@neekalert/my-art-of-the-week-the-bird-and-the-bug

Thanks so much. Have a great day :)

I'm so sorry...somehow I missed your post here! You did a nice job; I like the step-by-step instructions. My only advice is this...and it's yours to accept or reject: I'm not a fan of the "upvote/resteem/comment" at the end of any post, and I've noticed that a lot of people aren't crazy about it either. I've found that if your post is worth it, people will automatically upvote etc. without you having to ask. Again, nice work, and I'm so sorry I missed your request here:) cheers!

Actually, I upvoted your post, but I won't resteem it because there's only one day left for your payout. I'm going to do another resteem day on the weekend...please send me a new post of yours then and I'll be happy to do it!
