MINNOW FRIDAYS #1: This Week's Featured Newbies

Hello Fellow Newbie Minnows!

In partnership with @amariespeaks, I am launching my first Minnow Fridays. @amariespeaks have been running her Minnow Mondays where she features newbies in every (guess what?) Monday! I have joined in the fun as one of their talent scouts but I will doing this every Friday as Mondays can be busy for me as an employee.

There are several activities in the Newbieresteemday initiative by @davemccoy and @mudcat36. Initially, there were only resteemers but the initiative has branched out to different activities such as contests and featuring posts like that of the Minnow Mondays.

Our goal is to promote newbie posts and if you like their post, you may consider upvoting or giving them a comment to encourage them, because a comment is like a virtual pat on the back. I would rather that you give your upvote to their post than this post. And if you do, please let me know by leaving a comment that you upvoted or commented (or both) on any one of them. This is to take account of the support this can get as this is my first Minnow Fridays.

Post: “When a Cat spoiled my flight To Japan”

While browsing through the newbieresteemday tag and resteems, @noisyboy’s cartoon thumbnail caught my attention. I soon found that it’s a funny comic strip! His current story is about a cat who spoiled his flight to Japan. I can see the talent and effort our boy has put in here. This is one of his first comic strips when he was starting so I am sure that his future comic strips would be even much better. Comic strips aren’t so common YET in Steemit but with artists like him, they could make it popular soon!

Post: "SAY A PRAYER FOR SBD!!! - A WAKE UP CALL FOR MEMBERS OF THE NEWBIE RESTEEM INITIATIVE"

@ossyjay is one of the active “students” in @davemccoy’s Newbie class. I remember seeing him just before the start of 2018 and he promoted a “graduation” for the class of 2017! In his recent post, he spreads the word about the Newbieresteem initiative and calls for more volunteers. We are at the early stages of the Newbieresteem initiative and it’s growing fast! Check out his post to learn how you can volunteer and make more meaningful contributions to the growth of Steemit.

Post: "the Never Ending Story #3"

Last week, the Newbieresteem initiative launced the Super Bowl contests where anyone can host a game for newbies (and it doesn’t have to be about the Super Bowl). There were several fun contests and everyone was so creative. Among the game hosts, I chose @sinlg for his Never Ending Story game. The game is about continuing the story from the last comment. And this proved to be very engaging. It’s a collaborative form of freewriting. @sinlg just started out with John as the main character and so far we’ve got new characters plugged in by the contestants. You can join in the contest and see where the story leads!
