Im new here: Mission statement

in newhere •  5 years ago

Recently met a few Steemit users who encouraged me to get involved. This will be one of my first attempts at having a blog and at least for now, i am going to focus on something I am truly passionate about: Stupid crap.

I am especially horrified when is see the stuff that is on newsfeeds these days. The amount of misinformation or to be quite truthful, dumb information that is thrown at us on a daily basis is staggering. I intend to find the ones in newsfeeds like Yahoo News, Drudge Report, and other such news aggregators that definitely have an agenda.

However, it will never be my intention to take any sides because I don't really have one other than to look at all sides and point out the truly stupid things that news stations seem to think are a story of some sort, even when they clearly are not to anyone with a tiny bit of cognitive awareness.

If I stir up some controversy.... good. However, it is not my intention to hurt anyone's feelings, but rather to simply point out the idiocy that passes as reporting these days.

I am just becoming familiar with resource credits and what not, so it is my understanding that I will not be able to post very much at first until i get some of those (I'll figure it out.)

In the meantime here is a extremely dumb headline from a long time ago... in the future, i will be focusing on current events rather than something that happened a long time ago.

I'm looking forward to taking part in all of this: My pals who have been involved for a while over here say it is a great place to be!

Check out the protests in Texas, angry people that cannot explain what they are angry about but quote repetitive key words from news broadcasts.

I hear a lot of this. It's funny when reporters go and expose this sort of thing. I know that I avoid talking about politics with friends and especially at bars, but when someone starts throwing out keywords that are used frequently on the news or in very biased news stories, i know they can't be trusted to think for themselves.

ooh, this could be interesting. Welcome to steemit pal, here's a reasonable upvote to get those damn resource credit hassle out of the way :)

hey thanks for that. Yeah, the Resource Credit popped up a bit in the past couple days. With your vote (thanks by the way) how long will it take to change the credit problem?
