Don’ts of starting a new job

Again a new article for those newbies or people who changed their job recently. Staring a new job is exciting, we get to meet new friends, we get to learn new things, and we can improve a lot during this journey. However, some people may end up in complexities unknowingly. You can avoid those by considering some straightforward things that I mentioned below.

Don’t be late at work at least first day.

You know you work hard as well as smart, but people don’t know about you until you show your talent, which may not be exposed during your first week of your work. Therefore, in order to be noticed that you are passionate about the work, you can only do would be coming to the work at right time. Your manager may not impress by this, but if you go late, he/she will certainly judge you, which you don’t want.

Don’t be a desperate candidate rather be an enthusiastic

I saw a person at my workplace. I don’t know whether he wanted to impress the higher authorities or he was really desperate to do work as he got the job after many rejections. Whatever the answer is, I found the same person after few months transformed into a kind of lazy person. I understand that a new job is so exciting, but exciting never comes with us forever, instead focus on the main idea and concept and thrive yourself. Show your enthusiasm to your employer, and try to do the work with a fresh mind.

Don’t share your personal matters until he/she became your close friend

Some people get along very well, and we call them extroverts. This personality is amazing; however, we never know how the listener reactions to your personal problems. He/she may console you, or the person may tell everyone. If that happens, you may be treated differently. You don’t want all this right, so please stay calm and wait for the right moment to share your sorrows or feeling to your co-workers.

Say no to social media, at least for a month at office

The most important of all this, as per my knowledge, is stay away from any kind of social media. First-day #tags and all, you can post them later. Just concentrate on what is given to you. This is because the first impression is the best right. Checking phones and using social media during your starting days is not going to work although you are a faithful, hard worker.
