Hoyle Leigh on "pathological memes", tradition, moral, violence and coercion

in newpsychiatry •  8 years ago  (edited)

Excerpt from Genes, Memes, Culture and Mental Illness. The book is 6 years old and from the early days of the global spring, and it does not say it outright, but everything I've said in the #NewPsychiatry project is also in this book, just not as explicit.

Legal coercion and moral law, laws enforced through violence, legal coercion as the cause of mental illness, fits into category 1 of Hoyle Leigh's "pathological memes", as well as 2, in some shape or form causing 3, 4, and 5.

Note that 3 and 4 only becomes pathological when in a meme-pool which has 1 (a monopoly on violence) and 2 (expressions of manipulative dominance, propaganda).
