Snow-covered tulips welcome summer in Xinjiang
Rare snow fell in the mountainous region of Heavenly Lake in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region as most part of China has enjoyed the beginning of summer.
More than 200,000 blossoming tulips were blanketed in snow on May 7.
China just marked Lixia, or “Start of Summer,” a solar term on Chinese lunar calendar, last Saturday.
Located about 1,900 meters above sea level, Heavenly Lake is a famous resort area with breathtaking natural beauty.
