In a bizarre incident a Rat nibbled Indian currency notes worth $17,700 after getting into an ATM machine. The incident was taken place in the town of Tinsukia (Assam) at the SBI ATM in Laipuli area. The ATM machines were not able to dispense the cash even after a private security firm had deposited 500 and 2,000 currency notes amounting to $43,928 on 20th May 2018, On June 11 Technicians who arrived to fix a malfunctioning ATM machine got shocked when they opened it up.
Money worth more than 1.2Millions Indian Rupees had been shredded and the culprits are rats who entered through a hole for wiring whereas Undamaged currency notes amounting to $25,215 were recovered from the ATM.
