BEIRUT - Syrian rebels are offered to leave Ghouta East safely. The offer of the Russian military to allow the opposition to surrender the last territory held near Damascus to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Russia's Defense Ministry said rebels could go with their families and personal weapons through a secure corridor in East Ghouta, where Syrian troops continue to control many areas. The Russian proposal did not mention where the rebel would go.
The offer is the same as the previous deal when the rebels handed over territory to Assad and were given the opportunity to go to another opposition-controlled region on the Turkish border.
