US warns that Russia and China may be developing destructive weapons to be used in space.
No, not Death Stars or Star Destroyers, but CIA and FBI reports that ASATs (anti-satellite) weapons that they fear could be used against the US in the near future. This would add to the space-bound threats like North Korean satellite which is suspected to be an EMP that could strike the US at any time.

One of the documents state the following:
“We assess that, if a future conflict were to occur involving Russia or China, either country would justify attacks against US and allied satellites as necessary to offset any perceived US military advantage derived from military, civil, or commercial space systems.”
There is also fear that they are developing directed-energy weapons which could cause damage to equipment already in place if they want to. With this added to all the recent news of conflict, it's not too hard to imagine. What are your thoughts on this topic? Please post your comments in the replies section below.

This is classic cold war stir-up. "The Russians are researching xyz, so it won't be long before they have a distinct advantage over American interests. It is therefore of the utmost imperative, Mr. President, that we beat them to it."
