- NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Sleeping alongside your dog may help improve your sleep patterns, according to a recent study by the Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
-The researchers tried to find out if a dog in the bedroom was annoying or sleeping. To do so, they spent four months evaluating the sleep of humans and dogs in the same bedroom. Forty healthy adults participated in the experiment. Without disturbance in sleep, next to their dogs that none of them were under the age of 6 months.
-The results of the study showed that having a four-legged friend helps the person to sleep easily.
"Most people assume that having pets in the bedroom is a cause of the disorder," said Louis Krahn, a sleep medicine specialist at the hospital's sleep medicine center. "But we found that many people find comfort and a sense of sleep safety with their pets .
"It would be better if the animals slept on the bed next to their owners instead of sleeping on the ground."
