"It isn't true that al-Qaeda doesn't have an air force; it does, it's called the Israeli Air Force. Any time we make gains, they step in."
~Syrian President Bashar Assad, January 2015

It doesn't require a party to have an air force with its logos and banners printed on it, it's enough that an air force will carry out air raids for that party to consider it has one.

What's worrisome though, is not that the relation between Israel and Al Qaeda (including ISIS, Nusra Front, HTS, FSA.. et al), what's worrisome is after all these years many insist on not acknowledging this relations, not even after seeing Netanyahu himself visiting ISIS terrorists in a hospital in the occupied Syrian Golan or the dozens of confessions of former Israeli officers confirming they work close with these terrorist organizations.

The quote of President Assad is from January 2015, how many times did not only Israel but also the USA and its illegal coalition operating in Syria carry out attacks against Syrian targets and in one instance that lasted 53 minutes the US air forces killed up to 84 Syrian Army soldiers on the Thardeh Mountain in Deir Ezzor in September 2016, which the Pentagon later apologized, the US bombing was essential for ISIS to take over the strategic mountain protecting 120,000 Syrian civilians in the besieged city of Deir Ezzor.

Sort Order:

The US air force is ISIS air force and Israel air force is al Qaeda air force, suits them well.
