BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:40 P.M.) - The Aleppo Citadel has been reopened to the public for the first time in several years, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported today.
The Aleppo Citadel is one of the most important archaeological monuments inside this historical city.
The citadel, which dates back to Ayyubid period, has been closed since mid-2012 in order to protect its structure.
The citadel is one of the oldest and largest castles in the world and its beauty has been preserved throughout history as it walls and fortresses have stood for several centuries.
