BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:20 P.M.) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced his official resignation, tonight, while on live television.

Pashinyan reportedly resigned from his role as Prime Minister in order for Parliament to be dissolved, which will also force an early vote.

Earlier this month, Pashinyan hinted that he would resign if the Armenian Parliament would not hold new elections; however, he would remain in role until this evening.

Pashinyan rose to prominence in May of this year, when he led protests against government corruption.

He would then be named Prime Minister shortly after the wide-scale protests.
