Breaking: Syrian Army enters southern Damascus town for first time in years

BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:40 P.M.) - For the first time in years, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has entered the town of Yalda in southern Damascus.

According to a military report from Damascus, the rebels in Yalda allowed the Syrian Arab Army to enter town in order to launch attacks against the so-called Islamic State (ISIS).

Yalda had been controlled for several years by rebel groups before the recent peace agreement that saw many militants evacuated to northern Syria.

While many rebels are still inside the town, the Syrian Army was still granted access to the areas where the Islamic State is located.
