BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:40 P.M.) - For the the second time in the last five days, the Turkish Army has targeted the Kurdish-led People's Protection Units (YPG) inside the northwestern countryside of the Al-Hasakah Governorate.

According to local activists in Al-Hasakah, the Turkish Army fired several artillery shells towards the city of Ras Al-'Ayn near the Al-Raqqa provincial border.

Some local activists in Ras Al-'Ayn have accused the Turkish Army of targeting civilian farms that have no YPG presence.

The Turkish Army has been targeting three major cities along its border with Syria since President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's announcement of a new military operation east of the Euphrates.

While Ras Al-'Ayn does not appear to be an immediate target for invasion, it will likely be targeted by the Turkish military because of the YPG's supply line that is located near the city.
