BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:00 P.M.) - An unknown warplane crashed in the southern countryside of the Al-Hasakah Governorate, today, local activists reported this evening.
According to the reports, an unknown warplane had crashed approximately 15 kilometers south of Al-Shaddadi city, resulting in a powerful explosion in southern Al-Hasakah.
The reports claimed that the warplane likely belonged to the US-led Anti-ISIS Coalition, but it is still too early to tell.
Photos showing the debris from the crash were released by local activists this evening; however, the type of aircraft could not be made out.
Al-Shaddadi is currently under the control of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF); it was previously occupied by the Islamic State (ISIS) terror organization.
