BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:00 P.M.) - On Thursday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) managed to capture the Islamic State's (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) de facto capital, Hajin, in Syria after a fierce battle in the Euphrates River Valley.

Backed by U.S. airstrikes, the Syrian Democratic Forces were able to seize Hajin after they broke through the Islamic State's main line of defense inside the town-center.

According to local reports, once the Islamic State's main line of defense was breached, the terrorist group moved all of their forces to the southern outskirts of Hajin on Thursday afternoon.

However, despite capturing Hajin, the Syrian Democratic Forces are still engaged in heavy clashes with the Islamic State terrorists at the outskirts of Hajin.

It appears that Daesh is preparing to mount a counter-offensive in a bid to retake Hajin from the Syrian Democratic Forces.
