BEIRUT, LEBANONN (11:45 P.M.) - The Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) managed to foil another big assault by the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on the strategic town of Hajin.
According to local activists, the Daesh terrorists were able to repel the Syrian Democratic Forces' attack on their positions at the northern axis of Hajin after several hours of firefights on Sunday.
Pro-Islamic State media said that their fighters managed to kill and wound more than 15 fighters from the Syrian Democratic Forces during Sunday's battle.
The terrorist group's media wing also denied claims that the Syrian Democratic Forces were in control of half the town.
It appears that the terrorist group has recently sent reinforcements to Hajin because their forces at the southern axis of their Euphrates pocket were easily overrun by the SDF troops near Jabal Baghouz.
Hajin is considered the Islamic State's de facto capital in Syria and Iraq; it is also the largest town currently under their control.
