BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 P.M.) - At least 400 Syrian refugees left east Lebanon, today, to return home to Syria, the Lebanese General Security Chief, Major General 'Abbas Ibrahim, announced.

According to the statement from the General Security Directorate, a number of Syrian vehicles transported at least 400 refugees from the Wadi Hamayed area in the 'Arsal District to the eastern Qalamoun region of Syria.

A refugee managing the return of the refugees has registered the names of those willing to go home and delivered them to Lebanon’s General Security forces which in return completed the preparations, the AFP reported.

This is the first batch of refugees to return to Syria under the supervision of Damascus and the Lebanese government.

An estimated 61,000 Syrian refugees are still living in camps around the 'Arsal District of east Lebanon.
