Hundreds of people rallied in Tunis on Tuesday, to decry Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's scheduled visit in the second day of protests decrying the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
The Prince departed from Cairo on Tuesday and is expected to land in Tunis in the late afternoon. He is paying a visit to Tunisia as part of his tour of Arab states, during which he will also travel to Bahrain and the UAE.
During the rally, demonstrators chanted "The murderer is not welcome in Tunisia" and "Shame on Tunisia's rulers."
Khashoggi went to the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2 to pick up documents for his upcoming marriage, but has not been seen since.
Turkish officials claimed he was murdered inside the consulate while Saudi officials previously maintained that Khashoggi had left the consulate. After a string of contradictory explanations, Riyadh made another claim earlier this month that Khashoggi was murdered, and announced that the kingdom would seek the death penalty for five out of the 11 people charged with Khashoggi's murder.
Reports emerged earlier in November suggesting that the CIA believes Crown Prince ordered the killing, an allegation that the Saudi authorities have since denied.
