BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:50 P.M.) - For the third time in the last ten days, the Islamic State (ISIS) has attempted to enter the strategic border-city of Albukamal in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
According to a field report from Deir Ezzor, the Islamic State terrorists attempted to cross the Euphrates River this morning, but were spotted by Syrian Arab Army (SAA) scouts prior to reaching the western shore.
Once the Islamic State fighters did reach the western bank of the Euphrates River, the Syrian Army opened fire on the terrorists before they could move any closer to Albukamal.
A source in Deir Ezzor told Al-Masdar that the Syrian Army killed most of the Islamic State militants, while the remaining terrorists fled across the river.
At least three bodies were left on the western shore of the Euphrates; they were later pulled out by the Syrian Arab Army.
