BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:30 A.M.) - The jihadist rebels launched another special operation to eliminate a Syrian Arab Army (SAA) post in the northeastern countryside of the Latakia Governorate.

Led by Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham, the jihadist rebels attempted to sneak past the Syrian Arab Army lines and ambush a military post near the key mountaintop at Jubb Al-Ahmar.

However, unlike their previous attacks, the jihadist rebels were spotted by the Syrian Arab Army before they could carry out their operation.

The Syrian Arab Army managed to foil the Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham special operation, as their troops managed to kill and wound the jihadist attackers.

"An intelligence unit of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terrorist group attacked the Syrian Army’s positions near the Jubb al-Ahmar settlement in the Latakia province. Four Syrian servicemen were killed in the attack, but Syrian troops eliminated the attackers," Lieutenant General Sergei Solomatin of the Russian Reconciliation said, as quoted by the Tass News Agency.

Previously, the jihadist rebels of Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham carried out a special operation that resulted in the death of 23 soldiers near Jubb Al-Ahmar.

Since then, the Syrian Arab Army has reinforced this front near the Al-Ghaab Plain, while also increasing the total number of scouts around this front.
