BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:45 P.M.) - The jihadist rebels of Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham launched a surprise offensive near the border of the occupied Golan Heights this morning.

According to a field report from Al-Quneitra, Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham reportedly attempted to sneak past the Syrian Arab Army's (SAA) defenses at the western axis of Al-Ba'ath City; however, they were spotted by local scouts before they could infiltrate the government lines.

Intense clashes would then breakout between the two forces, with jihadist reinforcements entering the battle from the nearby town of Al-Hamidiyah.

The battle would last for two hours and result in no advance for the jihadist rebels of Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham.

According to a military source in the province, the Syrian Army and their allies from Liwaa Suqour Al-Quneitra managed to bat back the assault, while also killing and wounding more than five Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham fighters.

The Syrian Army also destroyed a technical vehicle mounted with a 23mm machine gun that was used by the jihadist rebels during today's battle.

Thus far, the Syrian Arab Army has remained idle in the Al-Quneitra Governorate, despite having thousands of soldiers ready to launch their long-awaited offensive.

With Israel closely watching their movements in Al-Quneitra, the Syrian Army has remained cautious about making any advance south from Hadar and Al-Ba'ath City.
