DAMASCUS, SYRIA (2:25 P.M.) - The first batch of Islamist insurgents will leave its last stronghold in East Ghouta in no time as per an evacuation agreement with Russia.

Up to 20 buses entered - this morning - the rebel bastion of Douma to transport hundreds of militants accompanied with their families to the city of Jarabulus in northern Aleppo.

Yesterday, scores of wounded Jaysh al-Islam fighters were transported to the country's north as per the same deal.

Official sources stated that the deal also involves releasing all civilian and military prisoners detained by the Saudi-backed group, as well as corpses of fallen Syrian Army soldiers.

Meanwhile, thousands of civilians who left their towns in Eastern Ghouta returned to their homes after the Syrian forces had secured the area.
