BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:40 A.M.) - A reconciled Free Syrian Army (FSA) was assassinated by unknown assailants inside the Daraa countryside on Sunday, the Syrian military reported.
According to the Syrian military, the former Free Syrian Army commander, Mashhur Kanakri, was killed on Sunday when unknown assailants opened fire on him inside the town of Da'el.
The Syrian military believes the assailants were part of rebel sleeper cell that are targeting former Free Syrian Army commanders that reconciled with the government.
No further details were released.
