An entire battalion of Russian military police returned from Syria to their base in Chechnya, the newspaper of the Russian Armed Forces Krasnaya Zvezda reported.

"From Syria, the military police unit returned to their place of permanent deployment in the Chechen Republic," the report said.

The Russian military police did not suffer any personnel losses, the report continued.

According to the report, the battalion of Lieutenant-Colonel Ahmed Abdulmutalibov, who arrived at home, was involved in securing the safety of civilians during humanitarian actions and escorting convoys, creating a safety zone for mobile hospitals that were providing medical care to the local population, and serving in the de-escalation zone in Idlib.

"It is very important that the military police battalion of the South Military District not only successfully coped with the tasks assigned to it, but also returned home without any losses," the newspaper quoted the deputy chief of the Main Military Police Directorate of the RF Ministry of Defense Major-General Vitaly Koch.
