BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:40 P.M.) - The Russian Federation offered the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to deploy the Syrian border guards to the Euphrates River Valley in order to protect the region, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Sunday.
Similar reports surfaced from pro-government media over the weekend, with some publications claiming that the Syrian Democratic Forces were told to hand over their areas in northern Syria.
According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Democratic Council did travel to the capital city last week, but no agreements were made.
The source said that another meeting is scheduled between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Council later this week.
The purpose of these meetings is to deal with the upcoming Turkish military invasion, which is targeting the areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces and People's Protection Units (YPG) in the Euphrates River Valley.
