BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:40 A.M.) - Russia has sent another large cargo ship to the Port of Tartous in western Syria, Yoruk Isik of the Bosphorous Observer reported yesterday.
According to Isik, Russia's BSF Tapir Class LST Nikolai Filchenkov 152 recently sailed through the Bosphorous Strait and entered Mediterranean waters en route to the Port of Tartous.

Isik added that the Russian cargo ship is likely transporting the BTR-80 amphibious armored personnel carrier (APC) to the Syrian military.
With the Syrian military already building up their troops in eastern Deir Ezzor, the delivery of more APC's is very critical.
