BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:15 P.M.) - The U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched a big assault in the southeastern countryside of the Deir Ezzor province, today, targeting the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) stronghold of Al-Sousah near the Iraqi border.

Backed by heavy artillery from their U.S. Coalition partners, the Syrian Democratic Forces began their assault on Monday by storming the Islamic State's positions at the outskirtsof Bo Khater and Al-Sousah.

According to local reports from the Deir Ezzor province, the Syrian Democratic Forces are attempting to enter these two Islamic State-held towns, while their allied troops fight off a terrorist counter-offensive at nearby Hajin.

Thus far, the Islamic State has managed to reenter Hajin and establish a foothold at the eastern districts of the town.

The terrorist group has reportedly embedded their troops in Hajin and positioned their snipers through the eastern districts.
