BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 P.M.) - Syria has accused the U.S. Coalition of using internationally-banned white phosphorous shells while bombing the Deir Ezzor province, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said.
According to state-owned SANA, the U.S. Coalition bombed the key town of Hajin in southeast Deir Ezzor on November 3rd.
The U.S. reportedly used white phosphorous bombs during the attack, killing at least 15 people as a result of these strikes on Hajin.
"The International Coalition used shells with white phosphorus, prohibited by international conventions, during an air strike on the New Market area in Hajin in the east of Deir ez-Zor province," the agency reported, citing local sources.
Syria has accused the U.S. Coalition of using white phosphorous bombs on several occasions in the past three weeks.The U.S. Coalition has denied using these internationally-banned bombs, despite accusations by Syria and Russia.
