BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:40 P.M.) - The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies prevented militants from breaking out of the Al-Tanf region towards the historical city of Palmyra this morning, the Russian Reconciliation Centre reported.
"On June 11… Syrian government troops with the support of the Russian Aerospace Forces prevented militants attempting to break out of the area of the Al-Tanf settlement toward Palmyra," the statement read, as quoted by Sputnik News Agency.
The report continued that at least five militants were killed, and one pickup truck and one motorbike were destroyed by the Syrian Army troops.
The remaining militants returned to the Al-Tanf lines, which is a U.S. protectorate.
These militants were spotted by Syrian Army scouts near Jabal Ghurab in southeast Homs, the report added.
