DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:45 P.M.) - Jihadi militants fighting the Syrian Army have used former border outposts for the United Nations' Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) as bases to launch attacks and manufacture explosives.
Russian Military Police deployed to the recently-recaptured areas near the Occupied Golan Heights uncovered a workshop for making IEDs and explosives in former UNDOF outposts, which were also used to store weapons and ammunition.
Besides, huge quantities of medications and food supplies in the form of foreign aid were also found in the area.
Local sources confirmed that Jihadists kept those medical and food supplies for themselves while denying them to civilians.
The Syrian forces, backed by Russian air force, have managed to regain control over the entire Quneitra and Daraa provinces after defeating jihadi groups.
The UN has suspended its operations in Syrian and eventually withdrawn forces when Nusra militants kidnapped 45 peacekeepers in August 2014 (released on September 2014).
