BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:15 P.M.) - A counter-terrorism operation in Endirey village in the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan ended with two militants being killed, footage released on Saturday shows.
According to the Russian National Anti-Terrorism Committee’s press-release, the militants were killed when they refused to lay down their arms and surrender to the authorities.
Security forces had earlier surrounded the militants' hideout and evacuated nearby houses to ensure residents’ safety.
Weapons and ammunition were found at the scene of clashes.
Two Federal Security Service (FSB) special forces’ officers and a member of the National Guard of the Russian Federation were injured.
No injuries among the civilian population were recorded.
