Update: YPG says 2 British soldiers were wounded, deny Syria TV report

BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:20 P.M.) - The Kurdish-led People's Protection Units (YPG) said on Saturday evening that two British soldiers were wounded as a result of an attack by the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) in eastern Deir Ezzor.

Denying a previous report by state-owned Syria TV, the YPG said that the two British soldiers were badly wounded when the Islamic State terror organization fired an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) towards the advancing Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Al-Shafah.

At least one fighter from the Syrian Democratic Forces is believed to have been killed as a result of this Islamic State attack.

Earlier today, Syria TV reported two British soldiers with the Anti-ISIS Coalition were killed when a missile hit their positions in the town of Al-Shafah.

The Syrian Democratic Forces are currently in control of more than 75 percent of Al-Shafah at this time, leaving only the southern part of the town still under the Islamic State's influence.
