BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:30 P.M.) - The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continued their field operations in the southeastern part of the Al-Hasakah Governorate, today, seizing more ground from the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) near the Iraqi border region.

According to the Spokesperson for the Syrian Democratic Forces, Kino Gabriel, their troops managed to capture over 25 villages and 300 square kilometers of territory from the Islamic State terrorists in the last few days.

All of these villages are located south of Al-Dashishah, which is a former stronghold for the Islamic State in southeast Al-Hasakah.

Al-Dashishah was captured by the Syrian Democratic Forces during the first phase of their offensive in the Al-Hasakah Governorate.

The Syrian Democratic Forces are now working to clear the remaining towns along the Hasakah-Deir Ezzor axis, as they look to eliminate the last remnants of the Islamic State from this region of the country.
