BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:50 P.M.) - The U.S. Coalition continued their airstrikes over the Deir Ezzor countryside, today, targeting several areas controlled by the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) near the Iraqi border.

These U.S. Coalition airstrikes would prove important this morning as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were able to score a new advance inside the town of Abu Khater in eastern Deir Ezzor.

According to local reports from eastern Deir Ezzor, the Syrian Democratic Forces managed to further their foothold inside of Abu Khater after a fierce battle with the Islamic State militants near the town-center.

The Syrian Democratic Forces have been trying to capture Abu Khater since they took control of the former Islamic State stronghold, Hajin, which is east of the Euphrates River.

Since capturing Hajin, the Syrian Democratic Forces have been able to build a buffer zone around the southern and eastern axes of the town.
