BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:45 A.M.) - Video footage (below) has emerged showing a fierce battle that took place between Rastan-based rebel forces and the Syrian Army in the northern countryside of Homs province on Sunday.

Part of the footage shows the moment that insurgents linked to the Free Syrian Army's 4th Corps engaged a column of government armor near the town of Hamarat with several anti-tank guided missiles.

According to reports (backed up more or less by video evidence), rebel fighters managed to damage a main battle tank and completely destroy a BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle belonging to government forces during the attack.

Sources in touch with Al-Masdar News say that whilst militants were able to repel the Syrian Army's first assault on Hamarat, a second push later on saw government forces come into full control of the town.
