OROVILLE, Calif. -- At least 130,000 people were asked to evacuate their Northern California homes Sunday evening after authorities warned an emergency spillway in the country's tallest dam was in danger of failing and unleashing uncontrolled flood waters on towns below.
Hundreds of cars were in bumper-to-bumper traffic on Highway 99 as people hurried away from the Oroville Dam.

La pasada noche (del domingo al lunes, hora española) se ha dado la orden de evacuación ante la erosión que estaba sufriendo la cabecera del aliviadero de emergència abierto ayer. Al parecer se localizó una grieta en dicha zona que se intentará tapar lanzando rocas desde helicópteros.

Que mala pinta tiene esta situación, lo de echar piedras desde helicópteros suena a postureo para simular que hay algo que hacer, pero no se que efectividad va a tener esa medida.
Por cierto, en España, en la provincia donde vivo, hay un pantano donde quizá tengamos una situación de emergencia parecida en no mucho tiempo, recordad el nombre del Pantano de Yesa, ojala que no, pero igual se hace famoso...
