UNEMPLOYMENT AND THE HARSH REALITY

in news •  7 years ago

How it saddens me the harsh reality of unemployment in our country SA. We are a small business with only 4 employees. The past four months were hectic, and we barely scraping through, but I have the most awesome boss ever. He re-located to New Zealand 10 months ago, and asked myself and our workshop manager if we will run his business for him or must he close it down. Obvious we said that we would like to continue with his business (we will have an income) and we promised him that we will run it to the best of our ability.. The first two months were block busters, we did so well, and then all of a sudden it is as if a gremlin came into our business, and we did not even reach half of our targets we used to do. But still my boss is trying his best to keep us afloat. We are all going on short time two days a week, just to alleviate the pressure of weekly wages not sky rocketing .

If I look at our clients also struggling to keep head above water, paying half their rents and some of them has closed their doors, it is a bleak future staring us right in the face, and that so close to Christmas.

Something drastic has to change in our country, what happened?, not only in the employment industry, but to our safety (as more and more people are murdered every day). Theft is on the rising, poverty is on the rising, fuel and food is on the rising) Where is all this going to end.
