This may sound weird, but it is real. And at $400, the ‘future of masturbation’ is sold out.
A Japanese manufacturer of disposable male sex toys, Tenga has created a new masturbation device - an illusion virtual reality sex suit – that, according to Inside Reality, "can send impulses all over the wearer’s body to make it feel like another human being is touching them."
Inside Reality reports:
By combining the visual stimulation provided by the Oculus Rift VR headset, along with the physical stimulation by way of this unique suit, the Illusion VR aims to please those men who may not have what it takes to land that perfect beach beauty, or don’t want to risk their health or freedom by paying for sex. The sex system is designed to work with a game called ‘Sexy Beach’, but in the future could be used for intimate cyber meet-ups with those you may or may not know personally.
[The device] is worn on the male’s genitals to provide stimulation in a variety of ways. There is the appendage which sits near the user’s sternum and represents female breasts. The user is able to manipulate and grope the slightly life-like breasts as they feel impulses throughout the rest of their body.
Whether this device will take business from the prostitution industry is yet to be seen, but there is no doubt that when this technology improves, sex workers everywhere should be alarmed.

Tenga CEO Tsuneki Sato believes robot-assisted virtual sex is the future of masturbation. He told Motherboard:
“I think in the future, the virtual real will become more real than actual real sex… I think that there's a taboo with male masturbation. We want to normalize it, that's why we design features for it... The virtual sex contraption could even be promoted as an outlet for the disabled. They have less access to sex, and this could help them."
