Which Military in Syria is a Peacekeeping Force?

in news •  4 years ago

There are many military forces operating in Syria, very few of those are legitimate forces operating in the country in a legitimate way within the international law standards, and there are other military forces who are operating without any legitimacy and are considered occupation forces, in addition to a number of assorted military force in the country, so who are they and what are they doing there?

Forget what the Pentagon says, they don't recognize international law, to start with, they despite the International Criminal Court, and they think the UN is made to serve the goals of the owners of the USA, not the politicians, the owners.

The Syrian Armed forces: the Syrian Arab Army, the Syrian Internal Forces (the police and law enforcement agencies), the Syrian National Defense Forces, these are all Syrian state-sanctioned forces of Syrian citizens serving in their country.

There are the Russian military forces and Iranian military advisers in addition to Hezb Allah members and a number of volunteers under the supervision of the Syrian NDF and Syrian Arab Army.

There are the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force UNDOF on the borders between Syria and the Syrian occupied Golan by Israel.

Everybody else are forces of evil whatever banner they carry spanning from ISIS to the Trump battalions wearing the US Army uniforms.

A member on Quora Q & A wiki platform seems to be wondering who of those are peacekeeping forces, he asked: Is there any military in Syria for peacekeeping?

I left a reply there which I'm copying here in full, as usual, to preserve it from Quora's heavy censorship and also to share the info with the readers of this platform, this is was my answer:

There’s the Syrian Arab Army the main peacekeeping military in Syria, they’re tasked with protecting the country from foreign enemies coming from abroad and the tens of thousands of them smuggled by neighboring countries, mainly Turkey, into Syria over the past 9 plus years.

There are peacekeeping forces in the southwest of the country commissioned by the United Nations Security Councils called the UNDOF or United Nations Disengagement Observer Force, they were deployed post the 1973 October war.

The Russian Army works as mediators in a number of areas in Syria, mainly in the south trying to separate the terrorists who didn’t join the reconciliation in Daraa province and those who joined the reconciliation and dropped their weapons and many of them joined the Syrian Army in fighting the real terrorists. Most of those were forced to join terrorist groups under all sorts of pressures imaginable and unimaginable.

Russian military police are also deployed in the Idlib province on the frontline between the Turkish army and al-Qaeda Levant aka Nusra Front aka HTS on one side and the Syrian Army on the other: Russian Military Police Deployed in Saraqib, Idlib

Russian military police patrols the city of Manbij in the Aleppo southern province cleaned from US troops.

And Russian military police also patrols parts of the northeastern region defusing tensions between the Turkish army and their al-Qaeda brethren on one side and the Syrian army on the other.

Russian military police are also tasked to help demine (remove the landmines and IEDs planted by the US-sponsored ‘Moderate al-Qaeda Terrorists’ in all areas cleaned by the Syrian army. They receive Caucasian terrorists captured by the Syrian Army and transfer them to Russia, they help with distributing humanitarian aid when and where needed, some sort of peacekeeping missions.
