The Polish unit "Miętus" sank on Saturday evening after a collision with a 143-meter container ship "Begonia S".

There were 16 people on board, all of them were saved by the Danish search and rescue services.

Two helicopters and three rescue ships participated in the operation. One, slightly injured person went to the hospital in Rønne, Denmark. "Miętus" sailed on commercial fishing cruises from Kołobrzeg, Poland to the area around the island of Bornholm, Dennmark.

The ship called for help about 20 km south of the south-west coast of Bornholm.

The "Begonia S" ship was stopped. The crew and passengers of the "Miętus" ship will return home tomorrow.
