Man lassos a bike thief in Wal-Mart parking lot

This happened while he was on horseback as well. I gotta say that it doesn't get much more country than this! The people who ride horses and are capable of bringing down cattle using rope and a horse are certainly not necessarily rednecks, but they certainly have a lot of the traits. Mostly I see these type of people as their own category of heroes because think about it: You can lasso a cow from a moving horse? Really?

The CCTV footage captured something that if you didn't hear it straight from the sources involved you would be convinced it was footage from a film.

The cowbooy is named Robert Borba and he is a champion bull-rider and general rodeo star.

He says that he heard someone shouting for help in the Oregan Wal-Mart parking lot and he chased down the thief, roped him, and then held him in place until the police arrived to arrest the man.

You gotta watch that news clip because it is pretty hilarious, especially the response of the 911 operator when he describes the situation to her. The thief, who is listed as "suspected thief" by the police department even though it is obvious that he did it but can't be called as such for legal reasons, is in custody and will be charged with theft.

Robert Borba on the other hand, is a modern-day hero using ancient tactics and well, he's probably in for a lot of attention for a little while. Good for you Robert.
