Well, I think I would say that the man is an easy target in the first place. And being arrested for tearing a scarf off in a heated argument is also pretty dump. Also, you can't just skip the possibility that he acts strange to get attention towards his project. Or the fact that apperently some people felt the urge to go there and start a rouse.
Even actors are humans, and I rather like the intensity with wich believes in his cause.
But most humans don't act like raving lunatics against eachother when it comes to politics. Celebrities are no different; some are more reserved and respectful of others while others are more belligerent and bizarre; Charlies Sheen is one example. And for the record, protesting and acting like jackasses isn't gonna solve the problems plaguing the world. We need to find another way. Find a way to "shut them down".

True, but I like to see the two sides of the coin, as actor gets accused of "assault" I'm pretty sure those counter protesters weren't there to sell cookies. But you have a good point.
Also love the new girl referrence, intentional or not ;)

Two sides of the coin. Nice allegory, but when a celebrity or any person for that matter, acts out of character in public or at a political event, it reveals to others more about that person's true nature than anything else. I'm not condemning anyone for wanting to speak their mind, but at the very least, do so with class and Lebeouf has no class whatsoever for being a blithering idiot in public. That's just sad and undermines and defeats the purpose of peaceful demonstrations.
