It took no time for Twitter users to convert Rahul Gandhi's 26-minute long speech into a humourous meme. The clip is from a speech that the politician gave during one of his recent rallies in Gujarat.
With the inflow of funny jokes and memes on Twitter, social media has turned into a box of comedy. From Bollywood to politics and religion – no matter what the context, social media users can change even the most serious conversations into a series of punny tweets. Recently, something similar happened when Rahul Gandhi addressed a rally in Patan, Gujarat. Gearing up for the upcoming elections in the state, he highlighted various promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s and countered them with his own views on them.
However, at one instance in the 26.17-minute video of the Gujarat rally, the politician can be heard saying, “Aisi machine lagaunga, iss side se aaloo ghusega, uss side se sona niklega.” (I will install such a machine that if you feed in potatoes from one side, you’ll get gold from the other side.)” After listening to the nonsensical statement, many users cropped out a short 0.20-second clip of this statement and converted it into a meme. The hilarious one-liners went viral, and have made quite buzz on the microblogging website.
