The Largest Oil Tanker Spill in the last 20 years.
A Iranian Oil tanker named the Sanchi collided with a Chinese freighter on Jan 6 and sank In the East China Sea on Jan 14.

More importantly is what it was transporting. 136 metric tonnes of " Condensate" Ultra light Crude Oil Condensate is mainly composed of propane, butane, pentane, benzene and heavier hydrocarbon fractions. Its highly soluble mixed with water. This is a volatile type of oil, similar to gasoline that is used to make jet fuel and other products. It is highly toxic to marine life. but does not look like the average spill as its semi transparent, unlike the black bunker fuel which was powering the Sanchi and was also spilt.
All Crew members are presumed dead. RIP

This is where The Sanchi drifted and sunk. Which is off the coast of Taiwan in the Japanese economic zone in the East China sea where a trifecta of fisheries are located from China Taiwan and Japan.

"They say"In the best-case scenario, the fuel will come to the surface in a slick that is massive but thousandths-of-millimeters thin. From there, it would evaporate into the atmosphere but ... “there’s a lot we don’t know about a major condensate spill since we’ve never seen one.” The condensate and bunker fuel would likely have very different potential fates and long lasting impacts on marine life and their environment. This incident could endanger nearby fisheries and marine life immediately and for years to come.

I always buy my fish local. :)
