The UK Government hopefully imposed higher on Google and Facebook if the two corporate giants were indeed halfhearted in their efforts to combat terrorism.
According to British Security Secretary Ben Wallace, Google and Facebook must be tougher in combating radical content in its services, as well as eliminating the possible benefits of their services in preparing for terrorist attacks.
In addition, Google and Facebook are said to be happy to 'sell' people's data but refuse to provide such data to the government, in training to combat terrorism. According to Wallace, companies like Google and Facebook are more concerned with the benefits of public securities companies.
On top of that, the UK government will impose higher taxes to Facebook and Google if they do not want to be more cooperative with the government, so please receive from Venture Beat, Tuesday (2/1/2018).
"If they do not cooperate, we will see things like taxes to give incentives or criticism of their actions," Wallace said.
Facebook and Google have a response about the Wallace question. They briefly dismissed the notion of prioritizing the benefits of public securities companies.
"Mr. Wallace is wrong to say we are more concerned with security gains, war in the war on terrorism We've invested millions of pounds for human resources and technology for the prevention and elimination of terrorist content," Facebook executive Simon Milner wrote in a statement.
The same thing was revealed by YouTube, which claims every day doing more to counter extremism content. One of them is by investing in machine learning technology, recruiting more content monitors, and more.
