Let me make it clear, if it wasn't already blatantly obvious. I'm not a hard left wing kind of guy. Is that going to serve as a good trigger warning for you?
As I've said before about this profile on Steemit, I love nothing more than moaning about what I see in the news; perhaps I'm even allowing the media to achieve their hidden objectives by successfully provoking me. If there is a newspaper that really takes the art of winding up the gullible general public and then turns it into an artform; it's probably Rupert Murdoch's 'The Sun.'
The Sun well and truly delivers over the course of a few different articles, past and present.
The first is this:
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/4553950/majorca-spain-british-holidays-tourists-leave-locals/
If I was to say that this the article more specifically referred to the plight of the local Spaniards in certain resort islands who are, let's face it; sick to death of Britain, Germany, Sweden etc sending over their most brainless, inbred, ugliest scum over to them once a year to provide some kind of adult babysitting service where our scum can left in their care to do their binge drinking, fast food munching and STD spreading away from normal civilised people and give them a couple of weeks of peace; one could feel that it would sound a little snobby and not quite true right?
It was something that one could expect the most arrogant and stuck up of middle class person to say. However, one must also wonder about the mindset of those who have recently taken a grievance to tourism all across Europe, if not the world. Sure, they may have very legitimate concerns about noise, rising property prices and their traditional way of life being destroyed; but something often seems to be quite hypocritical about those that make such complaints. The image below speaks volumes:
The anti-tourist brigade in many a Western city seem to somehow fail to realise that the influx of large numbers of refugees will also most likely destroy their traditional way of life, lead to more competition for jobs and even a shortage of accommodation that would result in rising rent/property prices.
They seem to want to reject their neighbours from those cold places next door that merely want to stay for a couple of weeks and drink a few too many beers, yet welcome complete strangers that will most likely outstay their welcome and want to force their hosts to adapt to their way of life.
Many of those that reject tourism seem all too keen to welcome refugees and brush those concerns aside, yet will appear to be all too keen to remember them once again when it comes to another kind of outsider; the temporary Eastern European migrant worker:
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/4555171/landlords-migrant-rentals-forcing-brits-jobs/
Of course, those that enter the UK legally, should not be allowed to live in such conditions; even if they are willing to accept pretty low standards of living for the sake of saving money. In the same sense, that some people have excessive levels of sympathy for refugees; I also tend to feel that the migrant workers are doing nothing wrong, despite the fact that they may be committing an offence by renting on a not so legal basis.
Most migrant workers are ambitious, they wish to work and in many cases, don't actually plan on outstaying their welcome as guests to the nation; they simply wish to make good money and go back home. However, the media seems to not apply those same standards to other, less foreign outsiders looking to live and work in the UK's larger cities; especially London as shown by this crazy example:
Many young millennials from all across the nation seem to be desperate to work in a trendy central London area and are willing to pay absolutely ridiculous prices to be able to live and work there; this is also a trend affecting other cities:
It can not be denied that these housing trends are brought about by outsiders, the ones that would seem to speak the loudest and be the most culturally influential. It is they that tend to work in the media and would not call for local people to force them out of the trendy areas like Dalston that they seem to wish to effectively colonise via the means of gentrification, as it would be suicidal for them.
These people seem reluctant to see refugees as a potential threat; possibly they themselves are unwanted outsiders, like the refugees that they wish to welcome. These millennial hipster creative/media fags can relate to refugees as they themselves had to flee barren wastelands with no hope remaining for them as humourously discussed by the final link in this piece.
Tourists, migrant workers, millennial hipsters and refugees are all groups that come from outside and potentially disrupt the way of life for those that are local to an area. But whereas some wish to stay for short time and some wish to make more money than they can back home, two out of the four mentioned groups seem to have a tendency to wish to force their ideologies and way of life upon others and condemn those that resist. Whether, it be Islam, feminism or veganism, chances are that the locals will be on the receiving end of a totalitarian agenda once the outsiders move in.
What I have wrote does not constitute a full scale investigation, it is merely a rant. There are plenty of gaps in knowledge and academic researchers will admit that they also face that problem, not just moaning cunts such as myself. But I'll let you speculate and try to work out what is really going on.
The last article that I will link to, will be a satire piece. Yet, there is an uncomfortably large amount of truth in it.

Don't you find it odd that the newspaper opinion leaders keep feeding us the same lines that are self-contradictory. 1. Having children is bad -- 2. There is a demographic bomb that is going to go off with regards to not enough carers to manage the baby boomers retirement health and living needs. 3 - We need massive influx of immigrants to deal with this 4. We need universal basic income for everybody even with unchecked massive open borders? -- It seems to me that these are contradictory things being suggested about these matters.

They may hope one day that they'll be able to talk in terms of 5 year plans; but really they are planning multiple generations ahead.

Looks like the world is getting crazier with each progressing day. More and more nations are becoming ultra nationalistic and that is a sad thing. Keep the borders open so free flow of goods and tourists can continue without hindrance.

No, it isn't sad at all, it is a very exciting thing and I welcome it to an extent.
I like the idea of nation states being just that; we should be celebrating our differences and enjoying our own spaces in the world. Being a sovereign nation does not have to prevent you from doing business with other friendly nations and even visiting each other as tourists.
I used to think that nationalism was an evil and scary thing when I was young too. But in order to be able to love others, one has to know how to love themself. Differences between groups of human beings is a reality that we can't deny, but we need not fear it; but simply accept it for what it is and respond accordingly.
That may mean occasionally rejecting refugees that pose a threat, kicking the shit out of self-righteous far-left hipsters that think that they pose a threat when they step into the wrong pub now and again. However, we can also see nationalism as an opportunity to present ourselves and our countries at our best, enthusiastically welcome others to visit because we are no longer ashamed to show them what we have, and most importantly of all; helping our friends out when they need it, rather than feeling the need to accommodate the needs of those who offer us zero benefit and do not have our best interests at heart.
